Partner with NSO to Meet Your School’s Online Learning Needs

As the state’s largest MDE-approved online learning provider, NSO partners with schools and districts throughout Minnesota. Districts can rely on NSO to offer online high school courses that work with each school’s schedule and requirements while allowing students to remain enrolled in their home district.

When schools and districts partner with NSO:

  • Students remain registered and connected to their school. Students can replace a course within their school day, pursue a full-time online course schedule (with enrolling school approval), or fulfill credit recovery needs at NSO at no cost to the family while staying enrolled in their current district.
  • Over 140 online courses taught by licensed, experienced teachers enhance learning opportunities for students beyond what may be available at their school.
  • We collaborate with schools and districts to provide scheduling and course options that work best for their students, including rolling enrollment with flexible start and end dates and asynchronous learning opportunities.
  • Consistent communication with families and school counselors on student progress, pacing, and engagement in online courses provides ongoing support to students.

There are a variety of ways for schools to partner with NSO as they work to meet the needs of all students wanting online options. In addition to typical fee structures and contracts, NSO can fill teacher contracts or provide more variety in online course options for students. NSO is always open to new ways of working together and exploring options that fit your school’s specific online learning needs.

Please reach out to David VanDenBoom (NSO Principal) at djvandenboom@district287.org for more information and to discuss additional possibilities.

Who is eligible to take courses at NSO?

All students in Minnesota can take up to 50 percent of their courses with the MDE-approved online learning provider of their choosing during each term of the school year (MN statute 124D.095 (Subd 4b.1).

If you have students who would like to take a full-time course load online at NSO, they can also do so with agreement from their enrolling school. Please reach out to us for more information on partnering with NSO to offer full-time online schedules for your students.
