NSO Progress Reporting

Tracking student progress is a very important part of support from the school and home. A variety of information can be found in the Genius system.

Progress Indicators

Each week a Progress Indicator is updated for students, based on their level of activity and progress

OK: Student is active and on track (green flag)
This means a student is active (viewing and sending assignments, participating in forums, responding to messages) and on track (nearly all assignments have been submitted that are required to date). Their work has generally been of passing quality.

MW: Missing Work Student is active but is falling behind (yellow flag).
This means a student has been participating, sending assignments, or communicating with the teacher, but is falling behind in terms of completing work on pace to finish the course on time. If students catch up, they would be changed from MW to OK. If students stop working or responding entirely, they should be changed from MW to NR.

NR: Not Responding Student is inactive and not submitting work (red flag)
This means a student has not responded to email or phone calls, has not been in Moodle, and has not submitted any assignments in the past week. When an NR is entered for a student, we begin notification of the drop process. Students who are NR for 3 weeks in a row or longer are dropped from the class. This is indicated by a number following the “NR”:

NR1: inactive (not submitting work) for 1 week

NR2: inactive (not submitting work) for 2 weeks

NR3: inactive (not submitting work) for 3 weeks — this may lead to an administrative withdrawal.
