Whether you are looking to replace a course within your school day, pursue full-time online learning, or fulfill credit recovery needs, we have you covered. We partner with your school to make sure you have the educational options that are right for you.
When you take a course at NSO:
- You stay enrolled at your current school. We believe that students should be able to stay connected to their school community while still having access to online learning options at no cost to your family.
- You expand your course options. Choose from over 140 online courses at NSO to enhance your learning opportunities beyond what might be available at your school.
- We work with your schedule. Our rolling enrollment lets you choose the start and end dates that work best for you and your school requirements. Our asynchronous learning opportunities let you do school work when it works best for you. When we say flexible, we mean it!
- We partner with you. We keep your family and school updated on your progress and provide help when you need it.
Who can take courses at NSO?
If you are a high school student in Minnesota, you can take an online course at NSO.
All students in Minnesota can take up to 50 percent of their courses with the MDE-approved online learning provider of their choosing during each term of the school year (MN statute 124D.095 (Subd 4b.1).
If you are interested in taking a full-time course load (or over 50 percent of your courses) online at NSO, you will need agreement from your enrolling school.
