  • This course serves as a basic introduction to the field of emotional intelligence. No prerequisites required.  Topics include:

    1. What is intelligence?
    2. What are emotions?
    3. Theories of emotions
    4. Learning to use and deal with negative emotions
    5. Anger management
    6. Fostering positive emotions
    7. Personality appreciation
    8. Building your own plan for emotional intelligence
    9. Language of emotions
    10. Non-verbal communication 

     Objectives:

    • Identify the major areas of research in EI
    • Demonstrate skills necessary to evaluate evidence supporting or challenging  EI  theories.
    • Develop an understanding of one’s own emotional predilections
    • Explore the theoretical foundations of EI.
    • Survey the current areas of controversy in understanding human emotions
